Questions

Is Popcorn free?

Yes. Every app is free and the library is public-domain and Creative-Commons film. Subscriptions and credits are optional and only fund preservation and larger offline packs.

Why do I have to sideload on Android?

Popcorn is not on Google Play yet; the listing is in review. Until then the APK is published here with a SHA-256 checksum so you can verify what you install. Google Play will take over updates once it is live.

Is my data synced between devices?

Sign in with the same account and your watchlist, progress, ratings and credits sync. Offline packs stay on the device that downloaded them.

How do I verify a checksum?

Run `sha256sum FILE` (Linux), `shasum -a 256 FILE` (macOS) or `certutil -hashfile FILE SHA256` (Windows) and compare the output with the checksum under the download button. They must match exactly.
